Resident Evil 7’s Busted Blasters: What to Do With the Broken Handgun and Shotguns

While Resident Evil 7 may not prioritize combat as much as its predecessors did, there are still plenty of opportunities for some intense shootouts against hordes of grotesque creatures. When facing off against these terrifying foes, having a trusty sidearm can make all the difference between life and death.

However, sometimes even well-maintained firearms can malfunction or sustain irreparable damage during prolonged use in grueling battles. Fortunately, Capcom has thoughtfully included two broken weapons within Resident Evil 7’s arsenal: the busted handgun and model shotgun.

These defective pieces of hardware are not simply decoration; they serve a purpose beyond mere aesthetic appeal. In fact, you may even find them quite useful under certain circumstances if wielded correctly. To unlock their full potential, however, you'll need to repair them first using one of two available weapon repair kits scattered throughout the game world.

Here's how to go about it:

1. First and foremost, locate both broken firearms – either by chance while exploring or through thorough exploration of each area.

2. Once in possession of these busted blasters, access your inventory by pressing the appropriate button (usually RB/RT on Xbox PS4 controllers).

3. Within your inventory menu, navigate to 'Items' then select 'Upgrades.'

4. Therein lies a sub-menu called 'Repair Parts.' This is where things get interesting – you'll need to spend valuable resources (MP or ammo) in exchange for repairing either the broken handgun OR model shotgun.

5. If successful, both weapons will be restored back into working order! Keep them handy just incase another tense encounter arises later down line.

It's worth noting that these repaired versions won't have any additional stats compared to their brand new counterparts; but hey, beggars can't choosereally now...
